Hello, my name is Aziza Sobh (she/her) and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) at Valley Connections Counselling, completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.   My professional journey is characterized by a deep commitment to helping others overcome life's challenges.

I hold an undergraduate degree from York University, where I pursued a double major in Kinesiology and Health Science and Psychology, which provided me with a multidimensional understanding of human well-being and laid the groundwork for my future endeavours in the realm of counselling psychology.

I've received additional training in specialized areas, including eating disorders, couples counselling, ADHD, emotion-focused therapy, and suicide prevention. This diverse skill set enables me to address a wide range of mental health concerns.

I specialize in working with individuals aged 18 and above, as well as couples, offering support in areas such as addiction, trauma, mood disorders (such as depression and anxiety), grief and loss, self-esteem, stress management, and marital/relationship issues. Additionally, my work extends to providing support and guidance to those with loved ones living with mood or personality disorders.

I employ a dynamic range of evidence-based therapies, tailoring my approach to the unique needs of each client. My toolkit includes Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS), The Gottman Method, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Humanistic Therapy.

Beyond my professional endeavours, I value the importance of self-care and cherish moments of leisure. I enjoy spending time with my cat and dog, going on hikes, playing volleyball, and prioritizing my own well-being.
